5 Step Scholarship Process

[1] Complete the application form online.

Beginning with the graduating class of 2021 the scholarship application form will only be available to complete and submit online.  The link to the application can be found below.


Applications are due February 1, 2021 and should be submitted via email to dragonscholarshipfund@gmail.com.


  • Beginning December 7, 2020, you will have access to the application via an email sent from the high school.  You can also use the link below.

[2] Request a JHS Staff Member Complete the Student Appraisal Online.

Beginning with the 2020-2021 school year, the Student Appraisal will only be completed online and will be due February 1, 2021.  The link to the Student Appraisal will be emailed to you December 7, 2020 and can be sent to the staff member of your choosing.  The appraisal form can also be found below.

[3] No interviews will be held due to COVID

Due to the ongoing pandemic and changes occurring quickly, the Dragon Scholarship Fund Committee has decided not to hold interviews for the 2021 graduating class.

[4] Receive a Graduation Diploma from Johnston High School

  • In early May 2021, you will be notified of the scholarship and the amount of the award via your Non JDragon email.

[5] After Graduation, complete and submit the Policy and Institution Intent Form

  • This form must be completed by June 15, 2021.
  • If a school has not been selected by this time, the form MUST still be completed. The student can contact the committee later if a change needs to be made,

Please note: All of the above steps must be completed for qualification of a scholarship or the scholarship is forfeited. There will be no reminders or variances. Dragon Scholarship Fund is not responsible for lost mail. ALL SCHOLARSHIP DECISIONS ARE FINAL.  The student application will NOT be retained after distribution of funds.

The Johnston Dragon Scholarship Fund Awards Committee reserves the right to disqualify an applicant from consideration of a scholarship if, in the discretion of the committee, the applicant's application is incomplete or fraudulent, or other circumstances relating to the integrity of the application process warrant disqualification.
