2017 awards were mailed August 9!
Checks were sent to the student's designated financial aid office at their campus. Each student is required to endorse the DSF award (form of a check) to their institution which will be awaiting their visit. Congratulations!
Please contact their campus financial office or online financial account from their university or college for notifications.
Our goal is to give EVERY JHS senior financial assistance as they continue their education beyond high school. We raise money in the community through personal and business donations, and at several events held throughout the year. The Dragon Scholarship Fund differs from other scholarships in that we strive to help every graduating senior who completes the application process, which is a six-step process. We believe everyone deserves a chance to earn a scholarship, regardless of class rank, financial need, gender, race, creed, or ability.
The Dragon Scholarship Fund (formerly known as Johnston Dollars for Scholars) is now a division of the Johnston Community School Foundation.
Dragon Scholarship Fund (DSF) donor information is maintained in a password-protected database which is only accessible by select members of the DSF board. The database containing donor personal data, contact information, and donation amounts is the sole property of the DSF and will be maintained for the sole purpose of carrying out the mission of the Fund. Such information shall not be disclosed to third parties except as may be required by law, and shall not be shared, sold, traded, or otherwise disseminated.
Our Donors 2016
More than 700 generous donors allowed the DSF to award 253 scholarships to JHS seniors for a total of $100,000.
